The narrative that needs to be further conveyed - Clay is deeply rooted in the community. Clay takes the soldier’s creed to heart, which says “I’ll never leave a fallen comrade behind”, in this case any resident or community. Clay is a workhorse, not a show horse. He is the only viable pro-choice candidate in this race. Clay wins with a coalition of AA votes along with women under the age of 55.
Two major opponents:
Developer and former Republican State Representative William Cogswell, while in the General Assembly, missed a third of all votes, including missing nearly half (47.1%) in his final term (Source).
Incumbent has failed on flooding, failed during the King Street Riot, failed on Sumar Street and failed on applying for city only grants with the Federal government. Link to digital folder here.
